Southampton is an unincorporated community in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, situated in the South-Eastern tip of Bucks County. Southampton is located 18 miles North, from the center of Philadelphia. The town is within the zone of Centennial School District, and is served by William Tennent High School, located in nearby Warminster, Pennsylvania. In order to ensure peaceful coexistence with the Indians residing in this region, Penn purchased the land with wampum and other valuable commodities including items of clothing, fish hooks, axes, knives and other useful tools.

Southampton Moving Resources:

  • Southampton Parks & Recreation – Tamanend Park offers many activities, amenities and rental options (picnic pavilions, building rentals, tennis courts, tot lot, gazebo, gardens, walking trails, softball fields, and picnic tables.)
  • Southampton Fire Department – In the years preceding 1909, the Southampton area was hit by several serious fires. A group of young men decided to confront this increasing threat to their community. Consequently they mounted barrels, a hose and a rather primitive pump on an old horse-drawn wagon. The finished product was Southampton’s first fire engine.
  • Bucks County SPCA – For over a century, the Bucks County SPCA has provided a safe haven for animals who have been abandoned or lost, have been surrendered by their owners, or who have endured abuse or neglect. Under our care these animals transform from lost, frightened and unwanted into happy, secure pets. The homes they are welcomed into are similarly transformed into more joyous, loving places.
